Last Two Days of Swedish Integrity

On wednesday, the 18 of June, the Swedish parliament will likely pass a controversial law. The bill enables for the Swedish defence radio authority (FRA) to scan and register all digital communication that passes the Swedish borders. Furthermore, it allows for the Swedish Government to search the communication data – without asking for any permission.

Since there is no way of knowing if my e-mails are passing a border on their way to their destination (unless they’re destinated to a foreign server, then I can be sure) we all have to work on the supposition that the government is eavesdropping.

I’ll be spending my two last days of my digital freedom researching ways to encrypt e-mails and telling friends about it. Meanwhile, here’s a few hints:

Enigmail
GnuPG
CAcert
